1. What is a typical use for Air Charter service?
Typical use might include business or pleasure travel within a 500 mile radius. Scanlon Aviation allows you to reduce a 5 to 10 hour drive to 1.5 to 3 hours of flight time. We utilize the modern state-of-the-art Cirrus SR22 airplane.

2. How convenient is Scanlon Aviation Air Charter Service?
Scanlon Aviation operates on your schedule. There are no crowds. No security lines. No hassles whatsoever. Just a seamless experience: you pull up to a private terminal; your pilot is there to greet you and help you with your bags; you take your seat in your, comfortable, business-friendly cabin; and you’re off.


3. Who operates Scanlon Aviation?
Scanlon Aviation is a Part 135 Air Carrier, FAA Certificate number SLLA729L, operated by Patrick Scanlon, a FAA certificated commercial, instrument rated pilot with over 4,900 hours of flight time. He is also a flight instructor specializing in training students in Cirrus aircraft.

4. What kind of airplane will I fly in?
We exclusively utilize the high-performance Cirrus SR22. This aircraft has similar equipment as found in commercial airliners such as air traffic, weather, and terrain awareness instruments, autopilot, and a dual-satellite navigation system. 5. How many people will the plane carry?

The Cirrus SR22 can carry up to 3 passengers. Including passengers and baggage, the maximum total weight limit is 480lbs. Longer trips of more than 300 miles reduce the available payload or may require a refueling stop.

6. What kind of weather can you fly in?
Clouds and rain are not typically a problem. Thunderstorms, high winds over the mountains, snow, icing in the clouds can cause delay or cancellation of a flight. Our satellite downlink of weather information and onboard lightning detection equipment help us keep track of potential bad weather during the flight.


7. How do I arrange a trip?
Call us at 415-897-9787 for quotes and reservations. Advanced reservations are recommended but not necessary.

8. How do I pay?
credit card logos We accept Visa, Master Card, American Express and Discover Card. When you book the flight we will take your credit card information and charge your account the day of the flight.


9. What if my plans change after booking the flight?

Please call us at 415-897-9787. If you cancel less than 24hrs before departure, a $200 cancellation fee will be charged to your account.

10. What if I’m late?

Please call us if you will be more than one hour later than the scheduled departure time. The standby rate of $45/hour will be charged after one hour past the scheduled departure time.


11. What about ground transportation?

Let us know when you book the flight if you will require ground transportation and we will assist in arranging it for you.
